The FS-X (Fighter Support Experimental) is a Japanese prototype fighter plane developed by Mitsubishi.[1] In most Sonic Wings games, Hien pilots an FS-X made by a master craftsman in Hida.

The FS-X is one of the most powerful planes in the game. Even without any power-ups, its Ninja Missile is strong; on full power, it is devastating to the enemy. The Ninja Beam fires a wide beam of energy from the plane capable of immediately destroying smaller enemies.

The FS-X's main Ninja Shot fires a kunai knife-shaped bullet straight ahead. The Puppet Shuriken sub weapon is a guided missile that can produce up to eight shots at a time, and the Ninja Beam fires a wide laser beam in front of the plane.

The FS-X's Shuriken Shot has a slight spread; with power-ups, the shot takes the shape of kunai knives. The shuriken-shaped Ninja Missile isn't very powerful, but numerous missiles can be fired at the same time. The FS-X once more features the powerful Ninja Beam as its bomb, which releases a mass of ki (life force energy) in front of the aircraft. The charge shot releases a katana sword named "Karasuma." Holding down the button makes the Karasuma rotate around the aircraft.
Sonic Wings Assault[]
The FS-X is perfect for top gun pilots. It banks quickly and performs fast barrel rolls, keeping the best pilots on their toes. Because of its squirrelly attributes, it's a hard jet to control, but a good choice for dog fighting.

The FS-X is again an extremely powerful plane, especially its Tornado Shuriken missile. It's especially useful when the player needs to eliminate a lot of smaller enemies quickly. The Japanese game manual points out that while the FS-X's armor is thin, it has the best performance and a "stealth effect." The Ninja Beam is the most powerful weapon in the game for playable aircraft.
