In two of Volk's single player endings in Special and Limited, he interacts with an unseen member of Fata Morgana. Various guidebooks and manuals indicate that Volk is seeking revenge against Fata Morgana for its betrayal of him; the animosity between Volk and this figure hints that this particular enemy may be the one who betrayed him, and that their mutual hatred could be of a personal nature.

The figure is only seen in one ending, when the player uses Volk to defeat Lar (or Do-ni Kai) in single-player mode. After winning the battle, Volk finds another humanoid man in agony amid the wreckage. Volk declares that he's insulted the man underestimated him by trying to kill him with "that piece of junk," then cries "Die!" and shoots him. However, when the mysterious man falls, Volk discovers that he is really an android decoy or substitute for Volk's target. Volk is unconcerned and states that he had fun anyway.

This enemy also speaks to Volk after defeating Balbi in single-player mode in Special, or Osaru in Limited. Volk infiltrates an ocean base of Fata Morgana and fires several bullets into what appears to be a computer console. A voice rather sarcastically congratulates him and informs him that the base will explode in two minutes. Volk says he doesn't care, and that the enemy is going to die alone. Bizarrely, he adds, "Crazy calculator" (狂い電卓め).

The voice responds that it's a shame to lose a talented man like Volk but "I hope you will die with my copy" (using the English word "copy" written in katakana). Unconcerned, Volk retorts that he is "Volk who forgot death," the man who never dies. The base does explode, and the game states that it is unknown whether Volk is alive or dead. However, he presumably survives since he appears in Sonic Wings Assault.

From what is shown of the enemy's robot clone, he is a Caucasian human man who wears a suit. He and Volk seem to have known each other well: the enemy implies that Volk was once a valuable member of Fata Morgana, yet his sarcastic and condescending attitude shows that he is glad to see Volk die. Volk clearly hates the enemy just as much, using harsh language and just as much sarcasm in addressing him.
