In Sonic Wings Assault, the "mother ship" Goliath serves as an aircraft carrier and mobile command center for the pilots. Ellen presumably gives her radio commands from here. Two missions involve the Goliath: "Air Docking" in which the player must land their craft in one "arm" of the carrier, and "Goliath Defense."
The ship is possibly named for the Biblical giant Goliath, due to its immense size. It could also reference the Air Destroyer Goliath military airship in Laputa: Castle in the Sky.
