The IL-102 is an experimental Soviet ground-attack aircraft designed by Ilyushin. Only a few prototypes were produced.[1]

The Special manual describes the IL-102 as a modern version of the IL-2 Stormovik. It has heavy defense, and while its artillery is a little hard to control, it is fairly strong at full power. The sub weapon drops a bomb which explodes on impact, while the Bolshoina Bomb creates a pillar of fire which burns the area in front of the aircraft.
The IL-102's charge shot drops four Matryoshka nesting dolls of different sizes. They move around the screen and erase enemy bullets in time to their own theme song, マトリョーシカボムBGM (Matryoshka Bomb BGM), which is included on the Sonic Wings Limited Soundtrack. Occasionally, the bomb will produce just one doll instead of four; this doll fires giant Cyrillic letters which spell out любовь, meaning "love." The dolls' faces resemble that of Mikan-Seijin (ミカンせいじん), a Japanese cartoon character who is an "alien from the planet Tangerine."[2]
