Metal Rabbit (メタルラビット) was a Video System game announced in Gamest magazine whose development was canceled.[1] An advertisement for Metal Rabbit also appeared in Game Machine magazine issue 404 (June 1, 1991).

Overview[]

As Metal Rabbit was to be set in the world of Rabio Lepus, fans speculate that it would have been a sequel to that game, and that Video System reused its assets in Turbo Force. Although this information is unconfirmed,[2] sprite data for Tenukie Chaudo can be found near the final boss's data in Turbo Force, suggesting that Tenukie might have been a boss planned for Metal Rabbit.

At least two advertisements were created for Metal Rabbit, one of which describes it as a "vertical scrolling technical shooting game." As one of the ads urges the player to "Save the princess!", Metal Rabbit's plot may have been similar to that of Rabio Lepus, whether as a sequel or a remake.

The title screen for Metal Rabbit appears on one of the game machines in Kowful's lab in Sonic Wings 3.
